Shipping Policy

The Blue Chip Room handles every artwork with the care and discretion it deserves. Because we deal in original, often irreplaceable works, shipping is arranged through trusted fine-art handlers and fully insured couriers rather than standard parcel services.

This policy explains how we deliver works within South Africa and how international shipments are handled.

Delivery anywhere in South Africa is complimentary. Once a purchase is confirmed and cleared, we arrange professional packing, transit insurance, and tracked delivery to your door.

Most shipments are delivered within 5–10 business days, depending on the destination and the framing or crating requirements of the work. We will confirm a delivery window before dispatch and keep you updated throughout transit.

Works are insured while in transit and must be inspected on receipt. Any visible damage should be noted with the courier and reported to us immediately.

International shipping is available but will incur additional costs. These are not included in the purchase price and are quoted separately before dispatch.

The quote covers crating, international transit, insurance, and any import duties, taxes, or customs fees applicable in the destination country. We will provide the full amount in writing and only proceed once you have approved it.

Delivery times vary by destination, typically 2–6 weeks after the shipment is released. We work with specialist art logistics partners to ensure each work travels under appropriate conditions.

Clients who prefer to collect in person may arrange a private appointment at our Sandton space. Collection is by prior arrangement only so that we can prepare the work and authenticate receipt in a secure environment.

A reservation deposit placed through the website secures the work while final terms are agreed. Shipping costs and delivery details are confirmed as part of that process before the balance is due.

Deposits are credited against the final purchase price. If a sale does not proceed under agreed terms, the deposit may be refunded in accordance with the specific terms confirmed for that transaction.

Title to a work passes only once the full purchase price has been received in cleared funds. Risk in transit is borne by The Blue Chip Room and our appointed couriers until the work is signed for at the delivery address.
